Recently, I compiled a "Bucket List" at a friend's place. For those who haven't seen the aptly titled movie, a "Bucket List" is a list containing the activities one wishes to accomplish before "kicking the bucket". Also, places or people one desires to see are items that might be included.
Skye's Bucket List (October 27, 2009)
IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER
* See the Great Northern Lights
* Swim with all of my clothes on (idea stolen from two of my high school students!)
* Witness a volcanic eruption
* Milk a cow using my hands
* Make a time capsule
* Climb a tree
* Wear sunglasses for an entire day (another idea stolen from the high schoolers)
* Sew one of my clothing designs
* Visit the Isle of Skye
* Drive a horse-drawn carriage
* Tour the Winchester Mystery House
* Set foot in all 7 continents
* Decorate the inside of a whole house
* Go on a roadtrip just to visit roadside attractions
* Take a boat down the Etowah from Amicalola Falls to Cartersville
* Name one of my children "Causey"
* Become fluent in French
* Commit to and look at one man like the church commits to and looks at Christ
* Serve past that same man towards Christ for the rest of our days together
* Have a red-headed child
* Adopt and have a large family
* Watch the sun rise and set in the same day (stolen from my h.s. girls)
* Acquire the ability to type without looking at the keyboard
* Be completely penniless for at least a day
* Stay a week in a homeless shelter
* Learn how to ride a motorcycle
* Stand for something to the point I inherit enemies, but love those enemies
* Hike the AT (Maine to Georgia)
* Learn how to ballroom dance
* Learn how to sword fight
* Watch a total eclipse of the sun
* Dance with my husband in the rain
* Run a marathon
* See my father come to Christ
* See God redeem my family
* Cook an entire Thanksgiving dinner
* Get through graduate school
* Learn how to sail
* Open up my home to those who need a place
* See an opera
* Camp in the snow
* Map out my family tree as far back as possible
* Hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, camp, and hike back up
* Publish a written work
* Ride in a hot air balloon
* Keep bees
* Learn basic car maintenance
* Operate a Christian organic farm for the people on the edge of society
* Become fluent in the guitar
* Slaughter an animal for food
* Survive off of the wild for a weekend
* See Vermont in the Fall
* Love God with all my heart, mind, soul, and body
But I must remember the words of Matthew 6:33....
